Those 2 ignorant men at 44:24 to 44:35 felt sorry for the camera man having them kicking off!
blud think your hardman fam
I volunteered on this line for a couple of years when I was 14/15 in around 2002/3. It was so much different then, but still full of a great group of massively enthusiastic guys who taught me so much about the line and railways in general. I remember a man called Malcolm Hill who used to oversee me during those wonderful days. I’d arrive early on a Sunday and spend the entire day there every week. Many memories and much enjoyment!
Language: Many of uses "c--k"
STOP saying this c word!
Aerodynamic? Don’t get me wrong the 170 is a decent train. But I would never call that brick in wheels aerodynamic. The scots are aware France, Japan and Spain had some actual aerodynamic trains at the time right
I'd say it's aerodynamic compared to what came before it kek
LOL that even back when this was made, the idiot sitting up the backside on the motorway was in a BMW!
I'm whiffed in me
They got literally all the plastic packaging in the world on the spotlight !
The japanese versions are also equipeed with the sakifaki and fakisaki cocks
Was thìs filmed around 2003 2004
40 years ago, if this was a retro video then it would be 1948
Surprised RUclips did not flag this video as being offensive. Isn't there a limit to how many times one can say cock? 😂
Paul Tyreman’s famous ain’t he?! 😃👍
Could I use your videos of Marshlink for a video I am making? If you have any more questions please reply?
No.
Have it!
I’m trying to find an old TV programme / documentary that featured delays on UK railways in perhaps 1990’s and in turn a poor lady who travelled south and endured a delay on her journey of over 24 hours ! Do you have this in your archive or know what programme it was ??
Nice trein 😂😂😂
As a Guard for SWR who does the doors, it's fascinating to see this
ARE YOU OPEN YET? WHAT DOES IT BLOODY LOOK LIKE! THE USUALL ATTITUDE OF BRITSH RAIL STAFF DRIVER STICKS HIS HEAD OUT OF THE WINDOW HURRY UP I'VE NOT GOT ALL BLEEDING DAY
Look 4:23 Mick Hucknall 😂😂😊
Mussolini made the trains run on time.
3:32 that's my old mate, Kenny!
Network South East is SIgma cause it didn't support LGBTQ
Good catch mate
Where does the short circuit bar go on a class 717?
These stations are so spooky.
Where’s his mate Claire?
This was originally broadcast in the early 1990s because slam door suburban trains still operated out of Charing Cross and Cannon Street stations.
1993 as per the Roman numeral end credit
@@MannyAntipov Filmed in early February 1993, as per the Kent House Train bombing
@@JohnCitizenDU We know Spastic Man as the red Umbro coat was a dead giveaway duh..
@@IssacLHunt That was a constructive comment.
My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚂🛤🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃 especially railcars like those he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service to carry both passengers and mail on lines that are not used anymore or at least don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of diesel railcars with past designs and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them.
why am I watching this im an american teenager this is completely irrelevant to me
There's more c(l)ocks in this video than the whole of the current Parliament! The only one I think he missed was the „Main reservoir isolation cоck isolation cоck“, which (According to a fitter from the time) was buried right in the centre of the equipment and completely inaccessible from the trackside! 🐓🚆🤣 Absolutely fantastic to go through this video again, absolutely love it every time I watch it! Also the root of the most _risqué_ drinking game throughout the entire railway community! 🍻🐓😉👍
So much more pride back then when it come to cleanliness what ever happened
Privatisation.
For my sins I used to deal with train complaints on the South Eastern in the 60s/70s. If we had had a tenth of the money the government doles out these days, life would have been so much better. Just the improvement in communications alone makes it a whole new world.
I was hoping being for merseyrail, it would be narrated by Ringo Starr
Seems the same in 2023!
The Netherlands calls stopper trains the "Sprinter"!
Why the 707-shit cab+fucking slow version exists(aka 717 for the NCL)
Why did they have those gates that they closed on people? You don’t see those at stations now. Was it to stop overcrowding or something?
It was to prevent last-minute runners trying to board trains ready to leave. Slam-door stock didn’t have central locking and the most daring would open doors on a moving train attempting to jump aboard.
@@390h8er Thank you! Yes I’ve seen videos on here of people doing that so i understand now why they had those gates at larger stations. Lots of unhappy people though!
I love commuting to work….. in my car.
blimey i remember them bleak winter days on the railways!!! nothing has changed at all!!
I've now decided to volunteer at this railway after a trip on this thumper unit. I've always loved heritage diesels.
Well one thing didnt change after the privatisation Paul Tyreman is still in Railway Safety Videos.
otherwise we would be going nowhere
Ok, so yo paddle up all of the shoes and check that there is no power to the unit. But what happens if something knocks out the paddles from under one shoe? Say an animal gunning alongside the track, or some object or damaged shoe gear sticking out from a train passing on the other line. Wouldn’t it have been safer if means had been provided for the normally live parts to be bonded to the running rails to prevent them becoming live unintentionally?
On the class 71 when the pantograph was in contact with a live overhead wire were the shoes live? How did things work on the old 1200V side contact system on the Manchester to Bury line? I remember that these units carried a short circuiting bar which was a different design with a heavy metal ball on the end of the handle. Was there a type of shoe paddle for use with Regis system? Could any work be done on these units without the traction current being turned off?
Superb! I was the one filming from the rear door of the first coach. A brilliant day out.
